5 out of 5 stars A remarkable book   January 6, 2009
Dr. R. T. Russell (Belfast, United Kingdom)
I read a review of this book in a local newspaper and ordered it immediately. I wasn't disappointed. Considering that Ms Bryne is dyslexic and barely able to read and write, it is remarkably well written. The Plain English Campaign would be proud of it! The book combines an autobiographical account of her life (she was born in 1954), with myriad mystical and spiritual experiences, mainly with angels. I found it very inspiring and hopeful. I have read various features about Lorna Bryne, and also watched a clip from a TV interview. Everyone remarks upon her simplicity and innocence. Suspend your disbelief and buy this book. You will get something out of it, I am sure of that. Unmissable!

5 out of 5 stars Simply inspiring   January 2, 2009
Lori Hampson (UK)
I received this book for Christmas and finished it in time for the New Year - what a wonderful and inspiring gift, just what I needed to start the New Year. Written in a beautiful and simple way - this book is unforgettable. Thank you Lorna, for telling your fabulous story.

5 out of 5 stars A good book for those with an open mind   December 30, 2008

For those of an open mind this will bring some comfort and an insight into a part of this world that you may or may not be aware of.

I have read this book and would hope it brings you equal amounts of love and hope into your life.

Just for a moment pretend there was such a thing as an angel.
Wouldn't you want them in your life?
wouldn't you want to know more about them?
Read this book.

2 out of 5 stars New Age stuff that masquerades as Christian   December 30, 2008

I assume Lorna Byrne is a pleasant person face-to-face, but her book is typical of new age publications that distort scripture, while claiming to be talking of the God of the Bible.

Scriptural inaccuracies? How about the last line of the book, that 'we are all angels'? Or in the last paragraph, that our souls are 'pure'? Or that Elijah (the prophet) is an angel? Or on her website, that the individual's prime purpose in life is 'to live life to the full'? Or that we are sometimes messengers for the angels?

She talks about God all the time, but no mention of Christ whatsoever. Big warning immediately. Ref Hebrews 1:4-14 for scriptural support that we humans are GREATER than angels, or 1 Corinthians 6:3 ("Do you not know that we will judge angels?").

She may be a nice person, but her book is not for anyone who professes to be Christian. She is not seeing angels, she is seeing something else...

I gave it 2 stars (rather than 1) for effort, not content.

5 out of 5 stars Moving   December 14, 2008

A moving biography of Lorna Byrne's struggle as a child and young mother- all the while being guided by angels. Her struggles to feed her young family, her father's struggle to keep a roof over their head, her husband's illness almost seem to reinforce her authenticity and reinforces the idea that we do not have to be doing 'great things' in order to live a purposeful life. Being who we are is purposeful. Written very simply, humbly and lovingly - which makes it a refreshing change for some of the other literature availible. A lovely read, especially for those interested in spirituality.
