Watch the circumference.... December 16, 2008 Brae (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased these boots in Banana. The leather is substantial, and the color was GORGEOUS and the advice about ordering half a size smaller was correct for me. I ordered a 5.5 and I am usually always a 6, and they fit perfectly. Unfortunately like one of the other reviewers, my calf is too small because the top of the shaft also slapped against my leg when I walked. (My calf circumference is about 12 inches) It was slightly remedied by wearing tights or thick tall socks, but I wanted to wear my boots without those. It's really unfortunate that I had to return them because these boots are amazing.
Best boots ever May 3, 2008 Kristin Hart (Seattle, WA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have had these boots for 5 years now (I have them in both black and brown) and they still fit and feel great. I have had them each resoled once. The leather is soft but durable, and wears well. They sort of have a cowboy rugged feel, but still enough style to wear them with a skirt. I read the review about the wide calf area. I didn't find this at all (I don't think I have big calves (I weigh 120) but who knows. I find they are one of the few boots that fit well under a tighter boot cut jean. They are not "snug" around the calf, but the boots don't "show" or "snag" (meaning there is enough room to wear under (not tucked in) a pair of jeans (or at least the ones I wear). I still get compliments on these kickers. Gotta love that. FRYE makes a great shoe.
Too Big April 4, 2008 C. Arff 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved these boots. I loved the look, I loved the color. Unfortunately I had to return them because they were so big around my calves that they made a slapping noise as I walked. Bummer.
Great Boot! January 22, 2008 Tara Hill (White Lake, MI) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
These boots are fantastic! Well made, great looking and will last a lifetime! I get compliments on them wherever I go. They are great with shorts, skirts & jeans! They are pretty true to size.
World's best boot maker. July 15, 2007 Mother on the Brink (Suburbs, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought my first pair of Fryes in 1989 -- i still wear them sometimes. These boots are super comfy. Soon after I bought them I spent four hours walking around town. No blisters, no problems. I wear them all the time -- except in the heat of summer.
