An acceptable product, seemed to work December 15, 2008 R. Bullock (Phila, PA) After starting a new birth control method, my skin just erupted. I looked like a 14-year-old - not a good look for a 30-year-old woman. My skin was terrible, and it was depressing. I had been trying benzoyl peroxide with no luck at all, so I decided to try something that had salicylic acid in it. This acne kit came highly recommended, by really - I was desperate and would have tried anything that promised to work. I began the day I received the kit. I faithfully used these products in the kit, and no other. I tossed all of my other cleansers so I wouldn't be tempted to use them. I washed my face twice a day, no matter how comfortable and sleepy I was on the couch watching movies. I stuck to this routine devoutly. However, to be honest...I have no idea if this kit worked for me, or if my skin got used to the birth control and stopped torturing me on its own. My skin DID clear up, but since I used the product faithfully at the same time that my body was becoming acclimated to the hormones in my birth control, it's a toss-up as to which factor was the winner. Therefore, I'll declare it a tie. This product is pleasantly light-scented. There are no overbearing fragrances. There is a high concentration of salicylic acid, which is great if your skin does not respond (or responds badly) to benzoyl peroxide. Keep in mind - you may have a bad reaction to salicylic acid.
Too Harsh December 8, 2008 AB After the first week of using this product my face seemed great. I have moderate adult acne and was thrilled to have found something I thought was working. Then it started going downhill and I started developing more and more cystic acne which I very rarely get. My skin began looking worse than before. I went back to the beauty place to buy a new product and mentioned I had used Murad. The sales lady cringed and said she rarely hears good things and had a problem herself with the product. I'm sure this product is great for people with really tough skin, but overall if you have acne you skin tends to be sensitive and this is just too harsh for regular use.
Amazing Results December 7, 2008 V. Eisele (East) I'm 27 and I've tried every product available for acne. I used an expensive presciption for a benzyl peroxide cream for almost 2 years. It usually kept my skin from breaking out, but it bleached my clothes and anything my face touched (including my husband's clothes). When my supply ran out, I took my sister's advice and bought the 60 day Murad kit. I started it in mid-October, it's now mid-December, and I still have a few weeks worth of product left. I was skeptical the first week or 2, since my acne certainly wasn't improved. Since I know that it usually takes a full 3-4 weeks for my skin to show any signs of a difference in regimen, I was willing to wait it out a couple more weeks. After the 2nd week, although my breakouts weren't diminished, I noticed how amazingly soft my skin felt, and that my scars seemed fainter. During the 3rd week my breakouts were almost completely gone, and since then, I've never been happier with my skin. Occasionally, I'll break out due to stress or hormones; when that happens I just use a little extra spot treatment and in the morning the blemish is almost completely gone. I know that the medication in this is not for everyone, but for me, it is a life-saver!
This does not work! October 26, 2008 V. Lang (Arizona) I paid 35 dollars for a 30 day trial kit of this item. It did not work at all. It made it worse! I had HUGE whiteheads all over my chin and cheeks that I usually dont get! I would not reccomend this to anyone!
This doesn't work October 12, 2008 Missy This product completely wrecked my skin. The cleanser leaves your skin dry and tight. I started to break out in the first weeks after I started to use it but customer support told me that's supposed to happen. Well two months after I started using the product my skin did not clear up. It was worse than it has ever been. I don't recommend this product to anyone. I've found a regiment that works for me at [...] Now that has worked for me and my skin is clear though I skill have some scarring from the Murad.
