Excellent high speed card January 6, 2009 Michael Sandman (Brookline, MA United States) UDMA cards are expensive compared to the next level down -- Lexar Professional and SanDisk Extreme III. The extra cost may be justified for newer cameras with high write speed capabilities and 12+ megapixels, and a UDMA card like the Lexar 300X downloads to your computer perceptibly faster. This CF card definitely delivers on the promise of higher speed, so if that's what you want it's worth the price.
Always Go For the Gold! November 11, 2008 Goddess of the Universe (Morgantown, WV United States) Fastest writing time I could find. If it's taking any time to write, I haven't noticed. I haven't put it to the full test yet - 8fps - but am confident it will keep pace. It produces spectacular color clarity on mid-quality, small-sized .jpeg setting. I was annoyed to need to buy a new card format when I upgraded Nikons, but got over it immediately. I can't imagine needing a second card because of the mind-boggling capacity of this one, but I will certainly go with a second one of these should it need a back-up. Lexar Professional Series have always given me flawless results. And the included recovery software has come in handy a few times too...
Lexar 8 gb udma 300x cf card October 6, 2008 Harold W. Motte (South Carolina, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Fast fast, and faster. I never run out even shooting raw. High buffer. 6 frames per second, no waiting, etc.... Highly recommend. Not cheap.
Not pleased July 2, 2008 C. Shie (Virginia) 3 out of 15 found this review helpful
I ordered this 8 gig card with new horizons in mind. I shoot with a professional Canon 10D EOS. My camera, after 3.4 gigs was used up on the Lexar card, could no longer write to the card fast enough and all images become corrupt thereafter. Since I had only read positive reviews for the card, I was way to sure of this card and used it during a wedding shoot. I'm thankful I had plenty of 1 and 2 gig cards as back up. Further investigation opened up the notion that this card cannot be maximized by any camera other then the higher end SLR professional cameras that are new to the market - so if you don't own a high end SLR and just have a normal SLR professional like myself, this card isn't going to work for you. Atleast not past 3.4 gigs.
Accurate, large storage space and fast! June 16, 2008 C. McCorison (Denver, CO USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would definitely put Lexar and SanDisk in the same category as the best memory cards on the market today. The UDMA Lexar 8GB is the perfect CF card for large format DSLR cameras. Especially for RAW format users.
