Excellent Product January 7, 2009 Luis Rojas Mendez (Heredia, Costa Rica) This is a great product, quite and small. In fact I bought it for my wife, but I still can't let it go.
Good product, fast shipping January 7, 2009 James Mckittrick (Vinton, VA United States) Bought this for my son so he can free up some space on my hard drive. He makes a lot of movies and since it's portable he can bring it over to his friends house and play them there also. Plug and play. Very easy.
Good product, bad cable, backup software just OK December 30, 2008 flattenedfrog This is a good harddrive for the money; you can get cheaper from a lesser-known brand, but I wanted reliability. I had a strange problem with the cable; the short length was OK for me, but after a few months, started getting errors that the drive was not recognized, and backups would occasionally fail. Swapped out the USB cable with a similar one for my camera, and now all is good. Never had a USB cable go bad, and I leave this one hooked up to my laptop dock station, so it's not like it gets moved alot. The supplied backup software is just OK, it would be nice if Toshiba supplied a product like Ghost, so you could make a backup of your entire system. Also, the backup software occasionlly fails for unknown reasons; maybe it will stop now that I'v replaced the cable. Still good value for the money.
so far so good December 24, 2008 Texas Mario (Houston, TX USA) Purchased this external hard drive to move some of my music out of my computer. No problems whatsoever with the unit. The only thing is that the USB cable that comes with the unit is barely long enough to plug in and sit on top of my computer. For me it worked OK, but for someone that only has the one USB port at the very bottom of their computer, in the back, well it may not be so convenient.
